Gardening is for the Birds

August 14 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

TYLER, TX – The Smith County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service invite the public to the next installment of the Nature in the Garden Series titled “I’ll Fly Away… Gardening is for the Birds.” The program will be presented by Greg Grant, Horticulture Agent with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Smith County.

Dr. Grant will explore how to create bird-friendly landscapes using native plants, layered vegetation, and thoughtful habitat design. The program will emphasize how homeowners can support songbirds, woodpeckers, and other native species by offering food, water, shelter, and safe nesting sites.

The program is open to all bird lovers, gardeners, and nature enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just enjoy feathered visitors in your yard, this presentation will provide inspiration and science-based guidance to make your landscape a haven for birds.

Join us and learn how gardening truly is for the birds!
