For nearly 20 years, the Smith County Master Gardeners have welcomed the community to our annual Home Garden Tour, a spring tradition that invites guests to step inside some of the area’s most beautiful private gardens. Visitors enjoy a relaxing day wandering through unique landscapes, hearing the stories behind them, gathering ideas for their own yards, and learning from Master Gardeners who are on hand throughout the tour to answer questions and offer guidance.

The 2026 tour features five distinctive gardens, each with its own character—from a vibrant sun-filled landscape to a charming cottage garden, a peaceful shade retreat, an elegant estate setting, and a classic English garden that feels like stepping into another world. Each location will also host a hands-on demonstration led by Master Gardeners, covering topics such as

• smart watering practices
• creating a Sunday Garden
• diagnosing lawn issues
• designing with native plants
• growing vegetables in containers

The 2026 tour will be on May 16 from 9 am to 3 pm, with discounted advance tickets available several months before the event. Tickets will also be available on the day of the tour. This year promises another memorable collection of garden “jewels” for guests to enjoy. Proceeds from the Home Garden Tour support a wide range of horticulture-related educational projects throughout the community.
