Home gardeners and landscape enthusiasts are invited to attend a free Garden Pest Management Seminar hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.

When:   Thursday, December 18, 2025
Time:    9:00 a.m. to noon (Registration begins at 8:30 a.m)
Where:  Overton Research Center, located at 1710 N FM 3053, Overton, TX 75684.

No cost to attend.

This educational program will provide practical strategies for managing pests and promoting sustainable gardening practices. Expert speakers will cover a range of topics designed to help gardeners protect their plants while supporting pollinator health and environmental stewardship.

  • Organic Methods to Manage Your Most Troublesome Pests – Dr. Rafia Khan, Assistant Professor and Extension Entomologist
  • Thriving Landscapes: Best Practices for Sustainable Home Gardening – Dr. Andrew King, Assistant Professor and Research Horticulturist
  • Sustainable Gardening for Pollinator Health – Dr. Garett Slater, Assistant Professor and Extension Entomologist

Participants will learn how to identify and control common garden pests using organic approaches, create resilient landscapes, and implement pollinator-friendly practices. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this seminar offers valuable insights to keep your garden healthy and productive.
